Whenever you're in conflict with someone,
there is one factor
that can make the difference between damaging your relationship
and deepening
it. That factor is attitude.

It (Conflict Communications) is truly awesome! I
work with "impulse control challenged individuals" and find that my
coworkers and I value your gems of wisdom, like most people would
value gold!! I can not thank you enough for your generous sharing of
your hard earned knowledge in our common school of hard knocks! In
these tough times, when people are distracted and temperamental,
your work is badly needed and valued!! Each time I reread them, I
get more out of your books as I apply your teachings to peacefully
solving very tough conflicts in my everyday personal and
professional life!!!

Conflict is inevitable, but combat
is optional

You always do come up with the
straight lines.. Once you drag them out of the mist and they
become clear, it becomes a no brainer.

Great material! The usual
blindingly-obvious-once-you-actually-point-it-out
that I have come to expect from you. :) -- Junjie Huang
Excellent stuff. Made me think. That's tough
to do on a Saturday. -- Clint Love

I have worked with Marc for a dozen years or so,
having hired him to teach training courses for my business, (The
Firearms Academy of Seattle) and recently combined with him to
produce a video on Recognizing and Responding to Pre-Attack
Indicators, for my other business, (The Armed Citizen's Legal
Defense Network). Marc is a pro to work with, (and won't drink
up too much of your good scotch, either).

It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than
to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence. -- Mahatma Ghandi |
Marc never talks down or up to
his audiences. Marc always stops and gets to know his people so
he can know how to speak with them on a mutual respect
level and so that he can adjust his teaching style to meet the
specific needs of the people he is working with at that moment.
In fact I have seen him adjust his style in class from police
officer, to college student, to business professional ...on
the fly with out compromising himself, the subject, or the
dignity of the person he was speaking with.

There's a difference in mindsets between people, who:
a) look around to see what's going on before they act
b) those who automatically assume they know what's happening
and proceed.
The former have a higher survival rate outside the narrow confines
of their safe lifestyles -- MM |
